You are stuck and the Link Essential installation is incomplete because you are getting the message "Update failed."
Updates to the Link Essential can take up to 20 minutes. This message is displayed when the process has taken longer than that. Before restarting the installation:
- make sure your Link Essential is not too far away from your Wi-Fi access point
At this point, there are two options:
- click on "retry"
- click on "quit"
Whichever option you choose, follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
The Link Essential will then be installed.
- I chose "retry" and am getting the error message, "There is a problem with updating your Link Essential."
If the retry process is not successful and you get the message, "There is a problem with updating your Link Essential,"
you will need to manually uninstall the Link Essential. Here's how:
- go to "My Equipment,"
- select the Link Essential
- then click "delete"
You can then restart the installation, following the above recommendations about the positioning of the Link Essential.
- I chose "quit" and am getting the error message, "There is a problem with quitting the installation of your Link Essential."
If the retry process is not successful and you get the message, "There is a problem with quitting the installation of your Link Essential," you will need to manually uninstall the Link Essential. Here's how:
- go to "My Equipment,"
- select the Link Essential
- then click "delete"
You can then restart the installation, following the above recommendations about the positioning of the Link Essential.
