Here's how to do it, depending on your Samsung phone's operating system
- Android 11
By default, on Android 11, Samsung will prevent apps from running in the background unless you exclude the Somfy Protect app from battery optimizations.
Solution 1 - Lock the app in Recent Apps
- Open Recent Apps.
- Find the Somfy Protect app.
- Press and hold the Somfy Protect app icon.
- Select Lock App.
Solution 2 – Disable the battery optimization setting when using the Somfy Protect app
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Apps.
- Select the Somfy Protect app
- Tap on Battery
- Tap on Battery Optimization
- In All Apps, select the Somfy Protect app
- Disable the Do Not Optimize setting
- Android 10 (Android Pie)
Battery optimizations are enabled by default. Disabled restrictions may be overridden after an update or restart of the operating system.
By default, any app that has not been started for three days is put into sleep mode and background tasks, including the app that allows us to optimize our location service, will stop working.
Solution 1 - Make sure that the Somfy Protect app is not in the list of apps on standby
- Go to Phone Settings
- Select Device Care
- Tap on Battery
- Tapthe 3-dot menu button (⁝) then select Settings
- Uncheck the Somfy Protect app in this list
Solution 2 – Make sure that there are no restrictions associated with the background use of the Somfy Protect app
- Go to Phone Settings
- Tap Applications
- Select the Somfy Protect app
- Tap Battery
- Make sure that the status associated with the Somfy Protect app allows battery usage even when the app is in the background
- Android 8, 7 (Android Oreo and Nougat)
Make sure that the Somfy Protect app is not in the list of apps on standby
- Go to Phone Settings
- Tap on Device Maintenance
- Tap Battery
- Make sure that the Somfy Protect app is not in the list of apps
