What happens if my Link Advanced loses connection with the network (Wi-Fi or GSM installation)?

A / What happens if my Link Advanced loses Wi-Fi access?

If your Wi-Fi isn't available, Somfy Home Alarm Advanced will still function locally. This means that your home will remain protected and your IntelliTAGs motion sensors will still trigger alerts and sound the sirens. However, management via the app and user presence display will not be operational.

You can still activate or deactivate the system via the key fobs or keypad.

GSM backup network

For the five years following your initial installation, your subscription to the GSM backup network is free within the European Union zone.

This means that, if you lose your Wi-Fi connection, the GSM backup network will take over transmission of any alerts (as long as there is network coverage).

You will still receive the following alerts (as long as the Link Advanced battery is connected):

  • Intruder motion sensor / IntelliTAG
  • Link Advanced tamper sensor / motion sensor
  • SOS alert
  • Loss of electric power
  • Return of electric power
  • Link Advanced battery power low
  • information on Wi-Fi network loss and the shift to the GSM backup network
