How to receive notifications with photos and video

If movement is detected, you'll receive an enriched push notification containing a 10-second video clip (iOS app) or an image (Android app). 

To receive enriched notifications, you need
- Video devices: Somfy One, Somfy One+, Somfy Security Camera, Somfy Indoor Camera, Somfy Outdoor Camera
- To activate movement detection on the video device
- By using the latest version of the Somfy Protect app (version 2.2 minimum)



Using the Somfy Protect app on iOS:
If an intrusion is detected, you'll receive a push notification containing a 10-second video clip.

If detected by a video device (Somfy Security Camera, Somfy Indoor Camera, Somfy Outdoor Camera or Somfy One and One+)
You'll receive a push notification containing the video taken by the device that detected the movement. 


If detected by an accessory (IntelliTAG™ or indoor motion sensor)
You'll receive a push notification alert containing the video taken by the primary video device installed.

You can cancel the alarm or access the video clip through the app from the enriched notification. For security reasons, when your phone is locked the app will ask you to enter your unlock code. 




Frequently asked questions
1 - Why aren't I receiving video clips with my notifications?


→ If you have an Apple Watch your iPhone will be unable to receive the 10-second video clip in the enriched push notification due to video encoding issues. We are working to improve this feature to bypass this technical constraint and provide you with the best possible quality of service. 

→ If you open the alert notification as soon as it is received, the 10-second video clip will not have had time to load. For security reasons, we send an alert as soon as an event occurs. This notification is then enriched with the video clip. This may take several seconds. 


2 - I heard three pings but I haven't received an enriched push notification. Why?

You'll receive an initial notification when the alarm is detected, then a ping every time a new element is available (photo, video, etc.). This is a single notification that is enriched with the various elements listed above. 






Using the Somfy Protect app on Android:
If an intrusion is detected, you'll receive a push notification containing one or several images.

You'll receive a push notification containing the image taken by the video device that detected the movement. 


If detected by an accessory (IntelliTAG™ or indoor motion sensor)
You'll receive an alert push notification followed by the push notification containing the image taken by your video device.

If your installation contains several video devices, your notification will contain several photos which can be viewed. 



Frequently asked question


I receive two notifications when a movement is detected. Why?

When movement is detected, your Somfy Protect app will send an initial alert followed by a second one that contains an image of that detected movement. This notification needs to be expanded (touch the screen and then drag downwards to display the image).
