Why am I getting messages telling me that "The key fob battery has been changed" when this is not the case?

I am receiving notifications indicating that a key fob battery has been changed, but this is not the case.



This type of situation can arise under two different circumstances:

  • The battery is defective and is not delivering voltage steadily, which can occur even with a new battery; it may be necessary to change it
  • The battery’s contact plates are not tight enough to hold the battery, resulting in a loose connection; you can tighten the connection of the plates by using a metal tip

Note that you can monitor the key fob battery status at any time in the “Somfy Protect” application by going to “Settings” >”My components,” then selecting the key fob in question. Here you will find the battery status (“Battery”).
