How to associate an io-homecontrol® device with my Somfy HomeAlarm Advanced control unit?

The 2-way key belongs to the io-homecontrol environment. It defines an ecosystem. Once the Somfy io device has been associated, the key is created. It can be used for all Somfy ecosystems.

Let's see how to pair an io device depending on whether or not it is associated with a checkpoint.

I. Yes, I have a checkpoint

A / Smoove or Situo remote control

  • Take the remote control with you,
  • Make sure it's working properly by testing the associated device.

NB: When handling the remote control, if you interrupt the procedure prematurely or if it is not completed correctly, remote control operation will be interrupted for a few minutes. After this time, it will be operational again.

  • Press and hold the PROG button on the back of your remote control until your device responds,
  • The search for the device is on.

1 / device found

  • A test is performed, and the device responds
  • Name it
  • Click on Finish

2 / device not found

The device is not found, or a technical problem prevents the procedure from continuing. Click on "Quit."

Then start the procedure again.

B / From a TaHoma Box

The io key is already known to your TaHoma box, so you need to retrieve it.

Once the security key has been recovered, your Link Advanced will launch a discovery of all compatible devices sharing the same key.

Warning: All io devices already installed on your Link Advanced may no longer respond after the new io key has been recovered. If so, please delete them and add them again after the new devices are discovered.

There are 2 ways to carry out this association:

- add io device(s) from the Add Device menu,

- retrieve the devices already installed on TaHoma from the Link Advanced settings (io key retrieval and io discovery).

1 / Add device(s) from the Add Device menu

  • From the Somfy Protect app, go to My Device < "+" Add a Device < Yes, I have a checkpoint < No, (because it's not a remote control < Start < Follow the app instructions,
  • Connect to the control interface of your TaHoma box,
  • Click on the "..." at the bottom of the screen,
  • Click on: Help and Advanced Functions < io Key Management < Continue < Transfer the installation key to a checkpoint < Other box,
  • On the Somfy Protect application, click Next, and the sharing procedure is underway.

Once the key has been retrieved, the compatible devices will be automatically associated with the Link Advanced following an io discovery.

2 / Retrieve the devices already installed on TaHoma from the Link Advanced settings (io key retrieval and io discovery)

  • From the Somfy Protect application, go to my Devices, Link Advanced < Advanced Settings < Receive an io key from an installation < Start < Next, then follow the instructions;
  • Connect to the TaHoma box control interface;
  • Click on the "..." at the bottom of the screen;
  • Click on: Help and Advanced Functions < io Key Management < Continue < Transfer the installation key to a checkpoint < Other box;
  • On the Somfy Protect application, click Next, and the sharing procedure is underway.

Once the key has been retrieved, to retrieve the device, launch an io discovery from the Advanced Settings < io Discovery menu.

II I install the product without a checkpoint

  • Select the product you wish to install;
  • Ensure that the device is powered/connected;
  • Press the top button or "PROG" depending on the io receiver model until the LED flashes;
  • Discovery starts and may take a few seconds;
  • Name the device (name and place of installation).

What to do if the installation fails?

Make sure you have set the device to pairing mode, otherwise the search will not be carried out.

In this case, the "No device detected" error message is displayed.

  • Click on “Try again”;
  • Reset the product as indicated on the App screen;
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to resume installation.

If installation still fails, try again later and contact customer service.
